If a job asks you to pay money before you earn money, it is a scam. Here is exactly how the trap is built.
If a "job" asks you to pay money before you earn money, it is a scam. Fake job and task scams reach you through WhatsApp and Telegram with offers of easy part-time income: like videos, rate hotels, complete simple tasks, and get paid daily. They pay you a small amount early to build trust, then trick you into depositing larger sums to "unlock" bigger earnings that never arrive. Genuine employers do not work this way.
It starts with an unsolicited message offering high daily income for simple work. You join a Telegram or WhatsApp group full of "members" posting screenshots of payouts. Most of them are fake or part of the operation.
You complete a few easy tasks and receive a small real payment. This is the hook. It makes the operation feel legitimate and makes you trust the next step.
Then the tasks change. To continue, you must "recharge" your account, pay a fee, or make a "prepaid task" deposit to unlock higher commissions. The promised returns climb. Each deposit supposedly brings a bigger payout. You keep paying because stopping feels like losing what you have already put in. Eventually the payouts stop entirely and the group goes silent or removes you.
You are contacted out of nowhere with a high-income offer. You are asked for any upfront fee, deposit, or "recharge". The work is suspiciously simple for the money promised. You are pushed into a Telegram or WhatsApp group with lots of payout screenshots. You are told to act fast or lose the slot. Any one of these is enough to walk away.
Because it breaks your natural caution. Once you have received real money, the operation no longer feels like a scam, and the later deposits feel like investments in something working. This is deliberate. The small payout is bait, paid out of the deposits of other victims.
Stop immediately. Do not pay another rupee to "recover" what you lost, because that is a second layer of the same scam. Save all the chats, payment records and group details. How do I check if a job offer is real? Verify the company on its official website, never pay to be hired, and be suspicious of any income that sounds too high for the work. Real recruiters do not ask for deposits.
They paid me once, so is it real? No. A small early payment is the classic bait. The losses come from the deposits they ask for afterward.
